Artist Jon Watson metal entered his profession as a result of the collaboration of his love of metal sculpture and the natural, organic world of plants and gardens.
That's because decades of sitting at a table in front of a computer can make you think. About a lot of things. As gardening. Nature. Of organic life. About the bush, rich rural Plantlife from his childhood in Georgia, and his current view of most of Arizona brown. And think about how his life came at this point.
It makes some people do crazy things. Like away from their careers to learn something new – such as welding. Artist Jon Watson is 20 years away in marketing. . . to learn to weld. He took a year off to train with a professional welder, then made an unpaid internship with a company industrial welding before finally striking on their own.
Madness. Jon admits that he was really frightening – probably the biggest gamble ever had. But it worked. Each can handle the weather throughout the year with little maintenance.
But the gardens of metal, Jon? Yup. Because really likes the look metal sculpture. And it works. Jon art is sold throughout the U.S. Think about this: anyone brave enough to get away from a desk job for probably metal art can do almost anything you want successfully!
