arizona youth sports leagues

What's Wrong / Right With Youth?
We are running the Arizona Youth Sports League and wants feedback from parents about what they like and dislike about youth sports. We doing this for the kids, we want fun!
What is happening right now is the degree of competitiveness which is in the parents. They want to repair their errors through their children. And like it or not ... their children are going to win, win, win, no matter what the cost to the child. You see the consequences on TV all the time ... Dad beats up 4 years football coach son of old, mothers get into a fistfight in the stands in a Pee-Wee football game, tackles coach and member of the opposing team attacks. It's pathetic. If sport is going to be fun ... then it must be fun for children. Not for adults. If a child is not fun, it should never be forced to play just because their parents want them to win someday. What's good about sports: It gives kids exercise. They can be taught how to lose and still feel good.

Sports Leagues Scheduling (Paperback)
$260 In the context of sports leagues scheduling (SLS) several groups` interests must be taken into account. This book treats requirements for sport leagues schedules to be realizable from an operational and a security point of view, attractive for spectators and tv channels, and fair for the conampeting teams. Formal problem definitions as well as integer programming models are presented and analyzed. Additionally, several fairness concepts are developed and their operability is investigated by means of graph theory. Moreover, this book presents algorithmic concepts that can be drawn upon to construct suitable schedules. This volume provides a deep understanding of problems arising in the context of SLS as well as approaches for dealing with these problems, being relevant for both theoreticians and practitioners. |
