Coaches of the San Diego Padres may have an excellent line to work with, but that does not mean they do not still have to work hard for them. No matter how to align, however, the Padres have a great group of coaches standing this year. The list includes first-base coach Rick Renteria, third base coach Glenn Hoffman Darren Balsley pitching coach, bench coach Ted Simmons, hitting coach Jim Lefebvre, bullpen coach Darrel Akerfelds and bullpen receiver Justin Hatcher.
Sometimes it is not so advised or given much credit are the other staff members to help whip the team into shape. These include head athletic trainer Todd Hutcheson, assistant athletic trainer Paul Navarro, strength and conditioning coach Jim Malone, direct travel team / team manager Brian Prilaman, assistant club manager Tony Petricca, assistant team manager Spencer Dallin, receiver Mark MERILA bullpen, sports therapist Philip Kerr and video coordinator Mike Tompkins.
What do all these members referred to? They work together to make a really great team of the list of 40 players who went to spring training shortly. The list includes pitchers Mike Adams, Cha Seun Baek, Heath Bell, Matt Bush, Cesar Carrillo, Mike Ekstrom, Ernesto Frieri, Josh Greer, Justin Hampson, Wade LeBlanc Wilton Lopez, Cla Meredith, Ivan Nova, Scott Patterson, Jake Peavy, Jackson Quezada, Cesar Ramos Chad Reineke, Jae Kuk Ryu, Joe Thatcher, Virgil Vasquez, Mark Worrell and Chris Young; receivers Nick Hundley and Jose Lobaton, infielders Matt Antonelli, Everth Cabrera, Travis Denker, David Eckstein, Adrian Gonzalez, Edgar Gonzalez, Kevin Kouzmanoff and Luis Rodriguez, and outfielders Luis Durango, Jody Gerunt, Brian Giles, Scott Hairston, Chase Headley, Drew Macias and Will Venable.
So where lead a good group of coaches and trainers and managers with a list of 40-man? Well, if you're the Padres, you get everyone packed and ready to go and head down to Peoria, Arizona. Peoria Sports field will host the Padres this year in preparation for spring, which officially begins with a set of good will on February 25 against the Mariners.
The games continue with a configuration that consists of games against the Cubs, Brewers, Dodgers, Rockies, Athletics, White Sox, Angels, Rangers, Diamondbacks, Royals, Indians, Giants and Brewers in March.
With this type of line-up and preparation Spring background, it sounds as if the Padres will have little time to stop and get pain or sit and calm down, but then this is the end of baseball forward and if the pirates are concerned and should try to get back into the swing of things, then there will be no dead time in the preparation in the field, in games or any other time that the pirates are doing what they love doing best, which is play baseball.
As the winds of dead time, events premises are to be cleared for the Padres as well. Fans and players have to be excited about what lies ahead in the coming weeks and months.
